Are Wii Fit?

by Liz on April 18th, 2008

Here’s some great news for Nintendo Wii Sports fans who are already bouncing around their living rooms chasing the imaginary ball. There’s a new kid coming to town. It’s name - Wii Fit.

A top selling game in Japan when it was released there in December last year, Wii Fit is now being released in other parts of the world and demand is high. Everyone, it seems, wants to be Wii Fit.

Watching the Wii Fit promotional video pretty much convinced me that my household needs the Nintendo Wii Fit. Why? Because one of the activities it features is the ‘hoola hoop’ - something I’ve been trying (and failing) to get the hang of for the past year. Perhaps, using Wii Fit, I can finally get the hoola hoop swing.

Not sure whether is all hype or all good ? Maybe these reviews will help you decide…

We played. We conquered. And we woke up incredibly sore the next day. We’re not kidding.

Wii Fit - first impressions

It sure does sound like a great way to get people of the couch and into exercise mode.

So, who’s going to go Wii Fit ?

If you are, those in the know like FitBuff suggest you’d better pre-order your copy now before they’re all gone.

I HAVE to have one. Oh!! I want one so badly!!

I love my Wii. I play tennis on it all the time. I do play some of the other sports that came with it, but not as often as the tennis. This one looks so cool.

Too bad I can’t figure out how to get someone to give me one. Hmm… my birthday is coming up next month….

You’re still a step ahead of me, Marijke, I don’t even have a Wii yet, even though I’m addicted to playing it at a friend’s house.

You get me a Wii for my birthday, and I’ll get you Wii Fit for your birthday, TOTALLY equal trade…

Marijke, the tennis sounds fun but aren’t you afraid you might do a little damage to the living room when chasing after the ball??? Wii Fit sounds a little more house friendly…

Hey Brendon, at least you have access to a Wii … which is more than I have at the moment. It’s been one of those I like but don’t need things on my wish list…with release of Wii Fit, it’s just moved up to the top of the list - the Christmas list that is…

Same here, Liz. I’ve been wanting a Wii for a while, but not in a totally serious way. But now…now I MUST have it!

Certainly better for health than traditional video games.

Absolutely. We’ve come a long way from the days of Pac Man.
