Mirrr, Mirror on the…Computer.
Remember this line ‘Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?’
Well, it turns out the mirror is now on the web and while it doesn’t offer an answer to the above rhyme, it can show you a glimpse of the future.
Good Morning America correspondent Andrea Canning recently checked out this new technology from two different companies.
Accenture Technology Labs is making a ‘persuasive mirror’ (not yet on the market) that is designed to show you exactly what bad habits - smoking, overeating, alcohol, sunbathing - can do to your face over a period of 6 months.
AgeMe.com by Aprilage Development takes this even further, providing an image of your face over the years rather than just months.
Fascinating stuff.
But will it really change a person’s habits?
What do you think?
Are you brave enough to give it a go?
If so, here’s a web version of AgeMe.com software to try out.
Let us know how you get on…

Did you do it? I’ll do it if you do it…..Although I am a little afraid….

These simulations are usually silly: making people look as if they were prematurely aged on Star Trek, like when the ‘friendly angel’ made Uhura look old to herself in the mirror to compromise her ability to run ship’s communications.
I have yet to try these. I am lazy now, but I have tried a few of these already, though, from what I have been reading on various sites in the past week, there have been new developments.
Maybe they are worth checking out, though, in the interest of brown nosing and appearing like a goody two shoes, non smoker, minimal drinker, nut butter/tofu/fruit juice vegan here. ;O)
Hmmm…

Hi Gabrielle,
No way I’ll do it…I plan on aging gracefully (without the mirror). But I do love the idea of this software — especially as a possible tool to discourage teens from smoking and other bad habits.
But you go right ahead and try it out..

Hi Paul,
If you decide to give these new softwares a try, do let us see the results…
The new ones seem to be a little less ’star wars’
