Aerosol Can Pancake Batter Makes Breakfast a Blast!

Thank God it’s organic!
I do not eat carbs*. So when I do indulge in sugar, I go big. I’m not about to waste my precious glucose high and subsequent 2 hour blood sugar hangover on things like toast, pasta or spray can pancake batter. Nope, I go straight for the truffles and cheesecake. Besides, if you live in Los Angeles, you simply don’t eat bread. Still, I know that plenty of people enjoy their grains. Easy access can be a beautiful thing; I’m just not sure we need more of it in the food sector. I thought the introduction of Gogurt was disturbing enough; then I met milk ‘n cereal bars. But Batter Blaster just takes the…
We are a bunch of fat and sick folks, and even kids are getting hopped up with blood pressure medications and diabetes diagnoses. We didn’t need convenient cookie dough rolls and we certainly don’t need pancake emissions. I don’t care if it’s organic and technically counts as a “grain”, something Uncle Sam wants you to eat a lot more of. I didn’t think I would ever say this, but aerosol can pancake batter might possibly be even worse than the cookie diet (in any of its chewy, crunchy and otherwise textural variations).
The breakfast-on-the-go segment of food manufacturing is pretty hot. A lot of people skip breakfast, so naturally we need to process food products to fill that gaping void. I even saw egg, chicken and tomato muffin balls at Bristol Farms recently. In other words, we are one small step away from human kibble, my friends. Is eating efficient food just for the sake of saying we ate something really healthy? I don’t want to check my meals off my daily to-do list; I don’t want my food to be convenient. Everything else already is. (Except, perhaps, canceling your Vonage account.)
*I just drink them.

I am must have breakfast kinda guy, but I’m not sure what the big deal is. I mean every morning I have some sort of an omelette with tomatoes and avocado on the side - I drink my carbs too - and I am eating in 7 -10 minutes, and it taste better than anything out of a can or box…
Oh and can I say ‘Soylent Green’

Eh. I’m still waiting for Spray-a-Steak. That would almost justify the cost of convenience foods!

I was just about to send you a link to the Batter Blaster website to see what you thought…we must be sharing a brainwave this morning…which makes me feel like I is real smarts. If you go to the website you can watch a demonstration, which is perfect for Halloween because it is just so scary!

What’s also disturbing are the commercials on TV nowadays. McDonald’s, Wienerschnitzel, pizzas, pastas, Taco Bell, sugary cereals - everything is QUICK yet no one says FATTENING or ROAD LEADING TO HEART ATTACK. The worst thing is, they associate comfort and family love with these nutritionally-void eats!!!
TV for me is a recent thing and more as an activity me and my honey do on certain nights. Thank goodness for TiVo, so I can fast forward past the very series of 30 seconds that screw up our mentality on what we should be shoving into our bodies.

So being extraordinarily lazy, I’m perhaps less horrified than most at the concept of breakfast convenience food and spray pancake batter in particular.
But then I’m thinking–if you want a slightly fakey tasting but quick alternative to real batter, they already invented toaster waffles! They even make ‘em whole grain now and full of flax etc. They still taste pretty crappy, but at least you don’t have to get a pan dirty to make ‘em.
But I’m with Sam: call me when they get Spray-a Steak.

Just think of how tender Spray a Steak would be! And good point about the waffles, Crabster.
I usually have a giant breve latte for breakfast with some bacon, a piece of fruit or piece of cheese, or I’ll make an omelet with avocado chunks and tomatoes. 5, 10 minutes tops. But to each his/her own, I guess! :)

While I was visiting in FL. Costco carried this pancake blaster and I loved them, I am now back in Richmond, VA and went to Costco, but they didn’t carry it. Where can I find it in Richmond or Glen Allen, VA?
