Seeing a Picture of Food Makes You More Hungry Than Seeing a Picture of Other Stuff

In a study of three people, scientists found that showing said masses images of 1) burgers and pizza, 2) berries and leaves, and 3) brick walls created consecutively lesser stimulation of hunger pangs.
The three subjects were then given leptin hormone therapy for two years. During this time, they lost weight. When they were shown images of fatty foods again, they were reportedly less hungry than the first time around. I’m no scientist (you are so shocked right now, I know). But how is showing three people pictures of a couple of random items two years apart in any way promising for obesity drugs? I’m actually relieved that seeing pictures of fatty food was more exciting than inedible structures for these folks. If a brick wall made me hungry, I’d get regular old therapy, not leptin therapy.

Brick walls always make me hungry…on, no, sorry, I mean PIZZA walls make me hungry, that’s right. What the world needs is for you to have the bottom half of every magazine pill ad and a PSA following every drug commercial to tell us this sorta stuff and bring us back down to Earth!!! Viva Healthbolt! Its a revolution!

That’s kinda interesting, because I notice that if I go to Safeway when I’m hungry, I end up buying all this food I normally would pass up.

When will ’scientists’ realise that most people don’t eat because they’re hungry, they just eat because it tastes nice and is enjoyable.

Speaking of images, have you seen that new show Pushing Daisies?
I have to fight the urge to run to my nearest Bristol Farms to pick up a pie! So far the fights have resulted in losses… But man those pies were good!
Maybe I just need a picture of bricks on my desktop or something.
