Brain-Eating Amoeba: Meh

Lake Havasu.
So there’s an amoeba that feeds on your brain, and my sources tell me it’s pretty much everywhere. This amoeba enters through your nose, takes up residence in your cerebral matter, and gets busy munching. Then, you die.
As if you needed another reason to avoid Lake Havasu, the amoeba has sprouted up in places like the aforementioned cesspool, along with various lakes, streams and about a dozen wells across America. So far, six have died from Naegleria Fowleri, but scientists say it’s really not a big deal. You can drink water brimming with the specimens and never become infected - it’s only snorting the water that is risky. The amoeba is found practically everywhere (even in dirt and swimming pools), but in yet another let down for horror fans, the chances of it feasting on your brain are slim to none. The only major concern is that the microbe flourishes in warm water; one scientist predicts that global warming may increase the number of deaths as bodies of water continue to increase in temperature.
