Western Diet Is Unhealthy!

This is news? Yes, my little curmudgeons, primarily because the latest study has established a link between junk food favorites and colon cancer recurrence. French fries, burgers and shakes (and pretty much all the other fried favorites) are bad for us. Fortunately, we at least have junk food that isn’t. The only issue I have with this news is that many publications are parading headlines spinning out a “high fat diet causes cancer” angle. This isn’t quite accurate. The study shows that a diet high in trans fats, desserts, french fries and starchy snacks (in other words, highly-processed fats and refined carbohydrates) is the problem.

    Yes, well said, and junk food is about the same price now as real food. The food is junk, but the price isn’t. So I say give yourself the real stuff.
