McDonald’s Offering New, Giant Soda Bucket
McDonald’s wants you to know that the new 42-ounce, 400-plus-calorie Hugo is not a supersized drink. Why? Well, duh, because it’s not called “supersized”! It’s not even part of the old Supersize menu. So it’s definitely not supersized. Well, I feel better now that we cleared that up.
Jones Adds Sugar to Its Sodas
Jones has been making changes of late: offering canned soda and switching out the high fructose corn syrup for sugar. The new motto: “Corn is for cars. Sugar is for soda.” And diabetes is for everyone!

It’s Middle Class Kids, Not Poor Kids, Who Are Chubby
The commonly-held assumption that poor children are more likely to be overweight has been debunked by a recent study of over 13,000 children. Middle-class kids are the pudgiest. The more mom works, the worse it gets (but this is only true in higher income families that have an additional paid childcare provider).
We Are Losing the Fight
For every one person treated, another six are infected. The rate of HIV infection is far out-pacing even recent stepped-up efforts to control this global epidemic. Worldwide, only 1 in 4 people have access to any kind of treatment, and fewer than 1 in 6 have access to preventive tools such as condoms.
No reason, really. Hypocrisy is awesome.

With regard to the supersize situation…the really sad, sad thing is that most people WILL probably say “but it doesn’t SAY supersize, so it must be ok”. So sad.

No, it’s not regularsized, and no, it’s not even supersized, yes, it’s our new GIGANTICSIZE! Step right up folks. [lol]
