The FDA Attempts to Screw Us Over Again

ON May 17th, the FDA proposed to allow 38 new products be labeled with the “FDA-organic” seal. Big deal right? Well, not exactly. You see the products aren’t organic. They’re just made by companies with a lot of lobbying power. Like Anheuser-Busch. Budweiser is on the list of 38, even though their hops are grown with pesticides and chemical fertilizers. In what way is that organic?
The public has been given 7 days to comment on the proposal, which means you have until tomorrow to make your voice heard. The companies with products on the list have been lobbying for months, if not longer. It’s just one more example of who’s side the FDA is on. (Hint: it’s not ours.) Whether you’re someone who shops for organic food or not, you should be concerned when the Food and Drug Administration starts allowing companies to knowingly to mis-label products for marketing purposes.
