Once you start these things it’s hard to stop…
Drugs are like that, too.
Once you pick them up it’s hard to drop…
Drugs are like that, too!
This PSA from the 70’s might have the worst product placement I’ve ever seen. It draws a pretty sinister comparison between LEGO blocks and drugs. If you ever played with LEGOs as a kid (I was a rabid LEGO-er) it will drown you in nostalgia and then creep you out! From Googtube:
This anti-drug educational film was created in the late 1970’s and narrated by famous straight-arrow Anita Bryant. Two school aged children discuss what they know about drugs while putting together a monstrous LEGO creation which ultimately functions as a motorized metaphor for the evils of tinkering with your physcial and mental health by experimenting with dangerous and illegal chemicals. Also serves as a warning to the many people who are actually addicted - not to any pharmaceutical - but to little bits of interlocking plastic. When they say “drugs are like THAT” they’re talking about the LEGO. You’ve been warned.

I like the filming of the “Lego Ruins” after they change just one little thing.
You know, drugs are like that.
