Woman Seeking Pardon from Firing Squad After Conception in Solitary Confinement

Reuters is reporting on what seems to be a modern-day immaculate conception story. One that involves a drug mule, a firing squad and no-doubt a sexually active Vietnamese prison guard. (That’s unsubstantiated. I’m just speculating on the whole immaculate conception part.)
HANOI (Reuters) - A death-row inmate held in solitary confinement in Vietnam for almost a year is pregnant and is seeking a pardon to give birth, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
The Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper quoted a police doctor as saying tests in September confirmed that convicted heroin trafficker Nguyen Thi Oanh, 39, was then 11 weeks pregnant…
The woman was sentenced to death by firing squad after she was caught smuggling more than 600 grams of heroin. This is a first in the Vietnamese prison system. (The pregnancy/death row/solitary situation; not the capture of a drug mule.)
I hope everything comes out OK!
