Plan B “Morning After (sex)” Pill to be Sold Over the Counter

Yesterday the FDA approved over-the-counter sales of “Plan B”. Adults 18 and older will be able to obtain the pill from pharmacies only with an ID showing proof of age. Coming to a Quick Trip near you soon, I’m sure.
As usual, when it comes to sexually-charged issues in this country (Dirty genitals! You’re dirty! And I don’t like you… Except when I’m by myself- Oh look someone’s getting dis-emboweled on TV, that’s nice. All better…) both sides are still pissed*.
Planned Parenthood is whining about the “scientifically baseless age restriction,” and if you listen very carefully you can actually hear Jerry Falwell ass-ploading, right…
now.

*Hint: If they ever stop being pissed, they stop getting paid.

I find it interesting that you have to be 18 or older to buy it. I guess that as long as you are in your father’s house and “not allowed to have sex young lady”, you won’t need it! I understand that you have to be of a “responsible” age to buy alcolhol, and a “mature” age to vote, but not letting people buy the morning after pill if they aren’t 18 is like selling a 12 year old beer and making him show his ID to get into AA! I don’t like how the country seems to be making it easy for everyone to pass the buck and to be irresponsible, but I MORE don’t like letting irresponsible people have babies.
