Exclusive Product Review and Giveaway: Slipstreamz
I love my iPod. I love biking.
Both of these things are good by themselves, but an in-canal earphone + cyclist on public roads = crazy dangerous.
Which brings me to Slipstreamz. It’s a very cool idea. You see, it holds your earphone an inch or so away from your ear, so you get your music without blocking out the ambient sounds that may save your life on the road. Another cool thing is it deflects wind away from your ears, which actually reduces noise.
I’ll be using these for a week. Then I’ll report back to you about whether or not any of that stuff I read on their website and regurgitated in that last paragraph was true.
These aren’t available anywhere in the U.S. right now: they start initial U.S. distribution in August. Along with the pair I got for review, I’ve also received a second pair to give away to Healthbolt readers!* All you have to do is post a comment in this thread and you’re entered to win.

Ewww, I HATE bikers on the sidewalk. They’re supposed to stay in the street.

Sweet - I want some!
And my opinion: bikers should stay off the sidewalks - in lost of places there are actually laws against bikers on sidewalks. On the flip side though - bikers should take special care to abide by all laws and make themselves as little aninconvenince as possible, when on the road.

No warmth from these, sydnie. They’re designed to breath. They keep the wind off your ears a bit, but they’ve no insulation value at all.
