Flickr Finding: Foreign “Pharmacy”
This pic is from a “pharmacy” (which looks to be street-side on the ground) in Xinjiang.

You can find a higher quality shot (this was cropped and compressed for your quick-loading pleasure) and more pics from travels abroad in themexican’s photostream after the jump.
Take two falcon’s and call me in the morning…

UPDATE:
This post got Boing Boing-ed. The photographer responded there with this comment:
Reader comment: Raul Gutierrez (the photographer) says:
If you liked my photo of the Xinjiang medicine man’s stand you linked on boing boing today, you might also also dig this one and this one. I have a terrible image somewhere (not online) of a chinese [medicine] man in Xining with a stand full of bear and tiger feet.
Thanks Raul!

Photo of Chinese street pharmacy: falcons, seahorses, and flattened lizards…
It’s nice to know that, in China, you will never find yourself short of dead falcons, seahorses, and flattened lizards, if this detail from a Flickr photo is any indication of what’s available from Xinjiang street vendors. Link (Thanks, Healthbolt!)….

Chinese Pharmacy…
The picture above shows a Chinese ‘pharamacy’. On offer is a falcon, snakes, flattened lizards and seahorses. Anyone know what the falcon cures?…

I took this picture while in Beijing in january ‘05:

(take off the _med for the higher res version)
The guy didn’t want me to take a picture (something about pictures stealing the power from his stuff), so I kinda had to stand across the street and use zoom, which is the reason for the poor angle.
